Spanish firms to explore Qatar prospects

Qatar-based Spanish International Trading & Business Centre (SITBC) and a number of Spanish companies recently held talks aimed at exploring business opportunities in the region.

SITBC is a privately owned business institution, which has been formed to provide comprehensive services to Spanish companies who wish to expand their markets and introduce their products in GCC countries and the Middle East.

Spanish firms, who visited Qatar on the invitation of SITBC, discussed a wide range of business interests with local entrepreneurs.

Fransisco Martinez, managing director of a group of companies, said the idea and innovation of SITBC will strengthen the Qatar-Spain business relationship and pave the way of new emerging business opportunities not only in Qatar but in the entire Middle East.

He said his companies have already entered into agreements with SITBC and a lot much alliance with SITBC will be made a reality with the passage of time. Praising the infrastructural set up of SITBC, Martinez said that it will facilitate our operational and organizational needs.

After signing an agreement with SITBC, Eurique Garcia said his company Indabemor will explore its business activities in Qatar in construction and real estate sector.

He said that whole world is affected with Global financial downturn but Qatar is still stable. The Qatar’s financial health and investors’ friendly policies among others are the major assets for the country’s economic growth, he commented.

“SITBC plans to enhance the business activities of its members into new regional and international growth markets. SITBC has gained huge experience in the investment field, especially in markets that deliver a high return on investment. This partnership will enable both parties to expand their business horizons across the world by working together on a number of projects”, said Dr Naseer Shahir Homoud, SITBC’s CEO & managing director.

Managing partner of Spanish company Hogarmanga, Carlos Cortes said his company’s association with the SITBC will set up new milestones in the Middle East real estate market. He said there were many opportunities to be explored in this sector.

“We are proud to announce our business alliance. We have developed an action plan for our strategies that will cater the needs of the Qatar and Spain’s markets”, said Jose Antonio Martinez, the managing partner of a visiting company.

Apart from its headquarters in Doha, the SITBC is also present in Spain through its branches in Madrid, Almeria and Cadiz in order to provide business consultancy services to all Spanish companies who wish to become members of the business centre.

The delegation visited a number of places, private companies and government organizations to better know the business environment of the country.
